CUTTY'S X TARA LEWIS

We are excited to share our artist collab series. Why would a sandwich shop collaborate with an artist, you ask? Good question. Well, of course because we love art, but we also saw an opportunity to take fine art out of the galleries, museums, and private homes, and put it in a space where more people can enjoy it on a daily basis. Additionally, who doesn’t love working on a project with cool, kind, creative people?

The first Cutty’s artist spotlight features Tara Lewis, a realist painter known for her playful large-scale portraits blending irreverence with a satirical edge, including her 2020 Brooke Shields collaboration series.

The collab includes a limited edition apparel collection showcasing Tara Lewis’s artwork inspired by the intersection of art and food. This limited-edition apparel will be available for purchase online and in store. T-shirts are $50 and sweatshirts are $70.

In addition, we have created a sandwich in honor of Tara and the collab, called the TLC--Roast Turkey, Green Leaf Lettuce, Calabrian Chile Mayo, Provolone, Shaved Red Onion  + Pickled Celery on Iggy's Focaccia Roll. The sandwich is available for a limited time at the shop. Creating a sandwich to go along with the art is just one way of us celebrating and paying tribute to the artist.

The original Tara Lewis x Cutty’s art installation is on display at Cutty's, inviting guests to savor the art of a sandwich.

A NOTE FROM THE ARTIST

“There is such a strong connection between food and art, and Cutty’s is not your average sandwich shop. I was immediately drawn to collaborating with them because creating cuisine is an experimental and creative process, just like making paintings. I see so many parallels between what Rachel and Charles do in the kitchen and what I do in my studio. They’re all about top quality, authenticity, and originality. Their kitchen feels like a studio of innovation, so how could I resist this project? Being a part of that world is an incredible opportunity to bring my own artistic perspective into a new context.”
